Good morning! I feel like God has been whispering something in my ear recently. I felt this confirmed on Sunday and then again last night as we sang the hymn, “Here I Am, Lord” at Mass. If you are not familiar with the song, the refrain says, “Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people in my heart.”

Do we listen for God’s call in our lives? If we hear it, are we ignoring it? Today I pray that we will both listen and respond to God’s call. Sometimes He speaks loudly and there is no mistaking that He is calling us; other times He speaks in the silence and we have to block out the rest of the world so that we can listen and hear His voice. It can be difficult to turn our lives completely over to God’s will and submit our hearts and minds to Him. But it is in our submission that we find purpose, contentment, and joy. Today I pray we each will answer God’s call by saying, “Here I am, Lord.”
