7 Quick Takes Friday: Resolutions for Moms with Toddlers

So I have been thinking about my resolutions for the year. For the toddler side of my life I’ve come up with the following. Be sure to add yours in the comments!

1.

I resolve to not go to the store with food smashed into my shirt (even if it happens to be on my back where I can’t see it) or my pants or my skirt, ok, or even in my hair.

2.

I resolve to eat one meal a week where I am not coughed on, spit on, drooled on, or sneezed on while eating.

3.

I resolve to read a book that does not begin with “Once upon a time” or where every other word rhymes or can’t be found in the dictionary.

4.

I resolved to poop alone at least once a week.

5.

I further resolve that no children may be on my lap while I am pooping if I cannot have the luxury of pooping alone.

6.

I resolve to have a phone conversation that does not involve me having to move the phone to the side so I don’t hurt my friend’s ear while yelling, “Oh no you don’t! Get out of that! I mean it! NO!”

7.

I resolve to not hide in my bedroom while snacking on hidden chocolate when the noise of my house just gets too loud.

On second thought, these resolutions seem like I might be setting myself up for failure. I may need to reevaluate these! Do you have any great resolutions?

So worth the food that has been sneezed on, the sleepless nights, and the non-private pooping :)

  1. Skip #7. I was just plotting #7. And it is trickier too, because you have to be able to get the chocolate from the store, home, and in to your room, without being caught.

  2. LOL!! #1 JUST happened to me on Sunday. I don’t even know what the food was but it was a big, crusty spot right on the front of my leg. Can you believe that this was the first time I’ve had that happen!! And I have two 3 year old boys. Don’t know how I’ve escaped that until now. I love this list!
